Your hosts Sam and Rona O'Shea offer an affordable self contained two bedroom flat, including linen, towels and basic equipment in the kitchen.
Sam and Rona also run Hihi Charters, taking clients out into Doubtless Bay after the fish of choice, Snapper & Kingfish. Other local species include Tarakihi, Trevally, kawhai, Gurnard, Golden Snapper, John Dory, with a variety of reef fish showing up at times.

Hihi is a small peaceful village that offers safe swimming and boating, and is an excellent location for exploring Doubtless Bay and the rest of the Far North, which includes the famous Ninety Mile Beach and Cape Reinga - NZ’s most northern point.
Local attractions along the east coast are the beautiful beaches at Cable Bay, Coopers Beach and Taipa. Mangonui, the closest settlement to Hihi, is historical, beautiful and the fish and chips are famous. Kaitaia is the nearest town.

We are based in Hihi just outside the entrance to Mangonui Harbour off Doubtless Bay. This is in the North of New Zealand about 4 to 5 hours driving from Auckland City, and 1 hour from the Bay of Islands. There are air services to Kaitaia and Kerikeri, both within easy driving distance from Hihi.
